Historical Displays
When the Home Office was built in 1987, AGR eliminated the historical displays, parking lot lights and a few other items on the plans to complete the project on budget. Our 2004 Centennial pointed out the need for a means to display historical items. At its April 12, 2007 meeting, the Educational Foundation Board authorized the Executive Director to develop a plan and budget to provide display cases in the headquarters for historical material and memorabilia consistent with the wishes of the donors and brothers.
We sought out alumni and others to coordinate the project. There are more than 100 historical items to be included. Those items include:
Original handwritten minutes on a bar napkin
Maynard Coe recognition plaque with gavel
Original hand lettered Coat of Arms
Song books
AGR histories
Various AGR pins and badges
Hat from Washington DC convention
And many more similar items
The proposal is to be a turn-key project taking six to eight weeks to complete from the original order. The exhibit firm will handle all aspects including construction, installation, proper lighting, layout, placement of materials, identification, signage, descriptions and a schedule of rotating materials.
The cost for the selected option is $28,654.95, and it includes four standing cases, a wall case, one timeline panel display and a lobby bookcase audio-visual display. The displays will include AGR’s Promise & Values.
We are asking for your support to enhance additional support for this initiative. We hope that you will support this very special project. We believe, when completed, the display will truly reflect AGR’s Promise & Values.
