Jason Gerke is a public relations account executive at Osborn & Barr Communications. At O&B, Gerke applies his editorial and communications background to serving animal agriculture clients including Monsanto Dairy Business and Intervet. He provides strategic public relations counsel including educating and preconditioning the marketplace for the client's product or service and contributes to integrated marketing communications.
Gerke previously held the position of Editor/Publications Manager for Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) – an $8-billion milk-marketing cooperative based in Kansas City, Mo. In this role he managed all written and electronic communications to members, media, and industry customers. Prior to that he served on the editorial staff of Drovers magazine, a national beef industry publication in Lenexa, Kan. Gerke earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a minor in Ag Economics.
Gerke grew up in central Missouri on a diversified beef and row-crop farm. He served as the Missouri State 4-H president and the Missouri Leadership of Tomorrow (ALOT)
Class X.
When not focused on client communications, Gerke and his wife are tending to their 16-acre ranch where they grow grapes and operate a boutique winery.
