Gift Acceptance Policy

Purpose - This gift acceptance policy serves as a guide to Alpha Gamma Rho Foundation (The Foundation) staff involved with accepting gifts, to outside advisors who assist in the fund raising process, and to prospective donors who wish to make gifts to the Foundation.
Gift Review Committee - This committee consists of the Alpha Gamma Rho Foundation Treasurer, the Executive Director (or a substitute appointed as needed by the President), and the President of the Foundation.
Cash
Outright Gifts: All gifts by cash or check shall be accepted by the Foundation regardless of amount. Read the full policy on cash.
Publicly Traded Securities
Readily marketable securities will be accepted by the Foundation. Read the full policy on publicly traded securities.
Closely Held Securities
Non-publicly traded securities may be accepted after consultation with appropriate counsel. Read the full policy on closely held securities.
Real Estate
The Gift Review Committee must review gifts of real estate before acceptance. Read the full policy on real estate.
Life Insurance
The Foundation will accept whole life insurance policies as gifts only when the Foundation is named as the owner and beneficiary of 100% of the policy. Read the full policy on life insurance.
Tangible Personal Property
Gifts of jewelry, artwork, collections, equipment and software shall be accepted after approval by the Gift Review Committee. Read the full policy on tangible personal property.
Deferred Gifts
The Foundation will accept deferred gifts with prior approval and consultation of the Gift Review Committee: Read the full policy on deferred gifts.
Standards of Care
The Foundation will issue written confirmation of gifts consistent with the IRS guidelines. Read the full policy on standards of care.
Administrative Issues
