Elliott Marsh was one of the individuals selected to receive the 2015 Alpha Gamma Rho Grand President's Award. He was honored with the award at the 2015 Leadership Seminar in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 7. His efforts consistent with the AGR Promise and Values qualified him for this award.
A native of Statesboro, Georgia, Marsh earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics at the University of Georgia, graduating in 2002. There, he was Noble Ruler of Alpha Eta Chapter and vice president of the Agronomy Club. He also graduated from the University of Georgia in August 2011 with a Master of Agricultural Leadership degree.
Marsh joined Southern States Cooperative, Inc. in September of 2014 as the precision ag coordinator for East Georgia Agronomy. There, he provides leadership, support and technical assistance at retail locations assigned to implement and deliver precision agriculture programs to farmers. Prior to joining Southern States, Marsh was the Eastern Georgia regional manager at Ag Technologies, LLC.
Marsh is active in a number of organizations and serves as a board member with the Agricultural Economics Association of Georgia, the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Alumni Association, and Advancing Georgia's Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry. He was elected to serve as the first president of the East Georgia CAES Alumni Chapter in 2008. Locally, Marsh enjoys being involved in a number of organizations including Kiwanis Club of Statesboro, Bulloch County Farm Bureau, Bulloch County 4-H Cooperative Extension Advisory Committee , Southeast Bulloch High School Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Statesboro Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce.
Service to Alpha Gamma Rho has also remained a priority for Marsh. In 2012, he served as a facilitator during the Alpha Gamma Rho and Sigma Alpha joint Leadership Seminars. This process enabled him to develop and teach curriculum relating to personal leadership skills to agricultural students throughout the country. Beginning with the 2014 seminars, Elliott has helped lead planning and curriculum development as the Leadership Seminar Coordinator.
Elliott and his wife, Christy, live on his family's farm along with their two daughters.
Administered and nominated by a selection committee the Grand President's Award is awarded by AGR for business excellence and professional achievement.
