Gary Schroeder
Gamma Chapter, Pennsylvania State University
Brother Gary Schroeder from the Gamma Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho at Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, is the subject of great attention in the most recent PennStater, the magazine of the Penn State Alumni Association.
The article highlights Brother Schroeder's decade-long effort to end gender separation in Scouting. Brother Schroeder, an eagle scout, has immense pride in the integration proposal he presented to a Scouts BSA planning team in 2014. "I have a big smile on my face everywhere I walk," the article quoted him to say. "The girls can do anything the boys can do," he says. "In today's society, everybody knows that. We have to have that equality of opportunity."
Brother Schroeder graduated from Penn State in 1978 and again in 1980 with a master's degree in agriculture. As a collegiate member, he served as Gamma Chapter's Noble Ruler.
