Brother Wayne Rasmussen of Kappa Chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln retired after 47 years practicing law. Brother Rasmussen was part of Smith, Pauley, Slusky & Rogers, LLP., based in Omaha, Nebraska. He also served as the General Counsel and corporate secretary of the Farmers National Company of Omaha. In 2022 Brother Rasmussen was recognized as a Lifetime Fellow by the Nebraska Bar Foundation.
Brothers from Alpha Chi Chapter at Western Kentucky University were recognized for their GPAs. The chapter received 2nd place in Highest New Member GPA with an average of 3.085. Alpha Chi Chapter took to social media sharing congratulations for the members of the chapter on their hard work.
Brother John Hoblick of Alpha Gamma Chapter at the University of Florida was inducted into the Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame. Brother Hoblick was the Florida Farm Bureau President for 15 years after joining a few weeks after graduating from college in 1985. Many Alpha Gamma Chapter alumni were present when Brother Hoblick was inducted.
Beta Sigma Chapter at Tarleton State University was awarded the Program Of The Year award from the Division of Student Engagement and Success. The chapter was awarded for its Angel Tree service project. Beta Sigma Chapter celebrated its award on social media and even received praise from Tarleton State University’s 16th President, Dr. James Hurley.
Brother Nathan Manges of Delta Chapter at Purdue University, and who serves as Delta Chapter’s Adviser, was recognized as the Purdue Greek Outstanding Adviser. The chapter shared Nathan’s recognition on social media with a note about his dedication to the chapter and the lasting impact he has had on the brothers who have joined during his tenure.
Brother Justin Eddy of Theta Chapter at the University of Missouri was the recipient of the Interfraternity Council Chapter President of the Year award. He is currently the Vice President of Judicial Procedures for his IFC Chapter. Brother Eddy was highlighted by the Mizzou IFC for his work and dedication to the organization.
Brother Ian Johnson of Eta Chapter at Iowa State University was one of three recipients of the 2024 Barron Award. Presented annually by the Iowa State University Alumni Association, the award recognizes graduating seniors who have shown great character, excelled in their classes, and been active in university and community organizations. Brother Johnson is an animal science major who has served as a peer mentor for younger students for the last three years in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Last year he served as Noble Ruler of Eta Chapter and has served in a variety of campus organizations and committees including 2022 Homecoming co-director through the Student Alumni Leadership Council. After graduation, Brother Johnson will join Select Sires in Ohio as a product specialist.
Three brothers from Alpha Omega Chapter at Murray State received awards for their achievements at Murray State’s Hutson School of Agriculture. Brother Brockton Greathouse received the Outstanding Senior in AGR award. Brother Coy Crull received the Outstanding Senior Man in Agriculture award. Lastly, Brother Peyton Fallen received the Outstanding Junior in AGR award.
