Brother Joseph Doumit and Brother Klay Hanrahan of Beta Phi Chapter at the University of Idaho both receive awards from their College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Brother Doumit was the recipient of the Outstanding Freshman award and Brother Hanrahan received the Student of the Year award.
Brother Jeffrey Knott of Lambda Chapter at the University of Minnesota was one of two alumni to receive the Golden Alumni Award at the Animal Science Showcase event, held by the Department of Animal Science, College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences at the university. Brother Knott received the Achievement in Industry Award for his work in swine nutrition.
Brother Knott started his own company, Ideal Nutrition, in 2014 and now influences how 8 million market hogs and 200,000 sows are fed every year in the U.S.
Brother Bryce Doeschot of Kappa Chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln was promoted to Operations Manager at Rural Radio Network. This new position expanded his duties to include oversight of the radio network based in Nebraska, which reaches six states. He will continue some of his previous duties such as Ag broadcasting and hosting the weekly television show, the Market Journal.
Brother Jack Owners of Beta Iota Chapter at Truman State University received the Bonnie-Gillig Award for outstanding service to the Agricultural Science Department at the university, as well as his work with the chapter participating in road-side clean ups.
Brother Gabriel Danelon of Beta Nu Chapter at Texas A&M University received two awards: the Agricultural Entrepreneur of the Year from the Department of Agriculture Economics Department at the university and he placed first in his final business pitch with a 200-page outlined business model.
Brother Zane Platter of West Texas A&M Colony was named one of two Student Employees of the Year at the Office of Career and Professional Development’s reception. Brother Platter was one of 33 nominees, 12 of whom were from the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences.
